Another fabulous weekend

This weekend definitely makes the top 5 list since I moved back to Edmonton. Friday night I went to the football game with Brock. It was fun, because it didn't rain, I got pizza and hot chocolate, I ran into some friends of mine, and, of course, because I was in good company ;)

Saturday, I went for dinner with my friend Timmer (a.k.a. Adam). He just moved to Edson from Lethbridge, so I was trying to show him how fun northern Alberta could be. After dinner, Adam and I went to a house party with my sister, Lacey, and some of her coworkers, and then we went to Hudson's on Whyte. Despite waiting in line for an hour, Hudson's had to be the best part of the night. We met up with dozens of people that we knew, including friends from high school and cousins. That was the first time in a VERY long time that I stayed out until closing time.

Today, Adam joined me for lunch with my grandma, auntie, and cousins, Crystal and Stephanie. Again, it was a lot of fun, as we all haven't been in the same room together for a very long time. I think Adam especially had a good time, because my cousins just happened to be very good looking and single. We spent the rest of the afternoon shopping at WEM.

Now, I'm back in my office/bedroom preparing for a week of hell at work :-)

Kelly and Colin's Wedding

I went to another wedding yesterday with Brock. Two of his friends from high school got married. It was a very beautiful wedding...minus the rain.

Here are some pictures from yesterday. Sorry they are so blurry. I think my camera is on its last days.

Back on the small screen…but not by choice.

Tomorrow morning I will be interviewed on Global’s Morning Show. I will be talking about my company’s latest outreach project, Iron Science Teacher. Although I think this makes a really exciting news item and I appreciate the coverage, I really don’t want to do this interview. The main reason I escaped broadcast journalism, is because I dreaded being on TV. Tomorrow’s interview will be even worse than when I worked at Global, because it will be live and I will be on the receiving end of the interview. I am so afraid that I will completely forget why I am there and forget all of the organization’s key messages. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Off to Calgary

I am going to Calgary for the weekend. I'll be spending some time with Lindsey, Ali, my cousin, Stacey, her husband, Jason, and some other friends. It should be fun. I'll be able to see some people who I haven't seen since junior high. I just wish I didn't have to drive, as I just drove to Brag Creek and back today. Also, I'm a little disappointed that I can't stay in Edmonton and go to the Eskimos game, as a group of my friends from Lethbridge will be in town for the game. Well, maybe next time.

Back from BC

I got back from BC today. My trip was a lot of fun. I spent the first few days in and around Victoria. It is so beautiful there. I love the ocean, the landscape, and the shopping. While I was in Vic, I was able to spend a lot of time catching up with two of my BFFs, Kelsey and Laura. We went for many walks along the ocean, thrift store shopping, and more. One of the nights that I was in Vic we went to this amazing little Italian restaurant called the Tappa (spell?) Bar. If you're ever in downtown Victoria, check it out.

The last part of my trip was spent with Brock in the Vancouver area. We went to his cousin, Danni's, wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and the food was fabulous. Sunday we went to White Rock, where I had the best fish and chips ever.

Now, it's back to reality. Fortunately I have tomorrow off. I plan to spend the day trying to work off all the extra pounds I put on during my vacation.
