A new goal

The last few times I’ve ran on the treadmill I’ve been able to do five kilometres. I’m thinking this is pretty good, right? Well, it can’t be that good if the barely 18-year-old, Christian soccer player (that’s what it says on her t-shirt) on the treadmill next to me is running twice my distance in half the time...and barely breaking a sweat. What the H! How does one get this good at running? I’ll show soccer girl. Thursday I plan to run six kilometres in under an hour. This will be especially painful since I’ll be going to the gym straight from the dentist.

Dumb blonde

Today Brock came to visit me downtown. We had lunch, and then I went with him to bring his new suit to the tailors. As the tailor was pinning up the suit, I noticed some white marks on the suit pants. I said to Brock, “what did you get on your pants?,” and attempted to rub the white marks off…not knowing that these marks are temporary marks purposely made by the tailor to indicate where the suit should be taken in. Boy, did I feel dumb. The tailor looked at me as if I was crazy, and Brock couldn’t help be to laugh AT me.

I feel so naked

Today I had to do one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, I had to let go of my engagement ring for one, maybe two weeks. It was just a little bit too big on me and it’s better to be safe than sorry, so I brought it into the jeweler’s to have it sized down. I was nauseous. It was bad enough parting with my ring, never mind having to sign a waiver incase it gets lost or damaged. Then I had to argue with the lady at the coutner about what size it should be. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that it comes back, all in one piece, and fitting.

Five kilometers

I finally ran five kilometres on the treadmill today. I wanted to puke after, but I did it. Yippee! Next step - run five kilometres outdoors. Yeah, I don’t anticipate that happening until the spring.
